🎶 1980s Music & Life 🎶

The 1980s were my teenage years, and they hold so many great memories, although, as with so many things, I didn’t appreciate at the time what a great life it was back then!

And the music was fantastic too, even if the technology involved was very different.
We could at least make out own “playlists” very easily! 😁

The fashions were very different, too, with bright neon colours, high-waisted jeans, leggings, shoulder pads, headbands, leotards and legwarmers, ankle boots, permed hair, etc.!

The first home computers arrived, as well as game consoles and the best-loved games such as Sonic and Mario.
We had video recorders and tapes, the Walkman, boomboxes, and the widespread use of synthesizers brought a new sound to the music. The first basic music CDs arrived, and the end loomed for the cassette.

The first mobile phones were brought out, and we had fax machines to send data electronically.

It truly was a decade of innovation and technological advances, with the idea of the Internet starting to be developed in 1989.
