To Autumn!

There are still few days until Autumn will officially begin, but the first signs of its arrival are already here.

From the hopes that Spring holds, the exuberance and joy of living and doing of Summer, now Mother Nature is telling us it is the time to recharge ourselves and rest a little.

I love the Greek myth of Demeter and Persephone that explains the changing of seasons. It started when Demeter, The Godess of Fertility and Harvest, was looking for her daughter Persephone, who was taken by Hades to the Underworld and made her the Godess of the Underworld. All this time while she was looking for her daughter, life stood still and earth was dying. But although she was forced to return for four months every year, Hades released Persephone and Demeter allowed the earth to bear crops again. The joyful time of her return marks the beginning of Spring.

Autumn comes with stunning, fiery colours, an invitation to long walks in Nature's Fine Art Gallery, and like a way of making it up for the days getting shorter and colder.

Time for harvest, time when birds are flying away to warmer places, Autumn is somehow preparing us for the stillness of winter.

So today let's have a chat about this time of the year, and have fun!

As always, smile a lot and be gentle with yourself and others!
