Inventors and inventions have been around for as long as humans have been - from the first crude tools, through the world-changing wheel, to all our modern devices and ideas.
How incredible it must be to be the first person to have that idea and bring it to life for the benefit of others.

But of course, all prototypes need testing and some won't work quite as wanted or expected!!
And who were the brave people who tried a new plant or fungi to find out if it was poisonous or not?!

Electricity, the telephone, computers, cars, planes - so many great ideas!! And they all started from a little germ of inspiration.

And these days, artificial intelligence and robotics are really changing the way so many things are done.
