It's A Moonlit Moon-day

Yes, today is the day named in honour of the moon and tonight we get a full moon!!
Actually, it was a beautiful moonlit start to the day here with the almost full moon making it as bright as day out there.
A beautiful sight!!

The moon has fascinated people over millennia and still does.

It controls the tides, it formed the basis of calendars, and it appears extensively in mythology and art, and it can cause people to do strange things under its influence!! Hence the term lunatic.

The word "month" has its basis from when humans used the lunar calendar before the switch to the solar one we are all more familiar with today.

I have always been fascinated by the moon and the night sky.
Earth's satellite is loved by many just for its beauty. How dark our nights would be without that silvery light shining down!!

And, of course, we had a race to be the first to set foot on the moon's surface.
