🤴A Right Royal Friday 👸

This weekend, those of us living in the UK are celebrating the platinum jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II. So there will be pageantry and patriotism galore and hopefully, street parties all over if the weather plays ball!!
But beyond the historical kings and queens of the world, themes of royalty exist all around us.

Cards have a royal family for each suit.

Many video games have royal families as part of their storyline and gameplay.
And we have the wicked queens of fairy tales or crazy ones as in Alice in Wonderland!!

And of course, chess has a king and a queen amongst its playing pieces.

But the animal kingdom has its own royalty too.

Who could forget the king of the jungle!!

And there are king and emperor penguins.

Then we have the frog prince of many fairy tales, just looking for his princess to save him with a kiss.

And many dogs consider themselves to be royalty!! 😁

Bees, ants, and wasps are other animals who live under the rule of a queen, as well as a species of shrimp and some mammals like naked mole rats!!

But the most royal of animals has to be the domestic cat - worshipped in Egypt and they have never forgotten that!!

The female cat is not called a queen for no reason!! 😁
