How Does Your Garden Grow?

Not all people are lucky enough to have a garden. Some just have a yard or a small paved area or balcony where they grow things in pots or window boxes.

I know I would be lost without some outside space to grow stuff in - flowers, herbs, trees, and fruit and vegetables.

There are all sorts of gardens - formal planting, informal, or wildlife gardens. I have never been one for formal gardening, although I like to look around them.

Nowadays, I try to have a wildlife-friendly and environmentally-friendly garden where I feed hedgehogs and foxes as well as many species of birds. My gardening style may be too relaxed for some as I leave a lot of old-growth in the autumn to provide shelter for insects over the winter, and only clear it in the spring.

But whatever your facilities and whatever your style, designing a garden is as involved as choosing decor for your house - the architecture, the layout of flower beds, the positions of trees or large shrubs, as well as trying to get some colour and interest throughout the year.

Do you have a garden or enjoy gardening, or do you just try to grow a bit of food for yourself in whatever space you have?
Have you visited some gardens somewhere that really blew your mind or are there ones you would love to visit, given the chance?
Let’s start the week off by sharing all things botanical, as well as our normal friendly fun and chat!!
