Christmas and New Year are over, and I bet you all ate too much and put on some weight. It can't be helped, but now that it is over, we should do something about it. If you still have naughties left, put them away for a bit and eat them during the year. Decide on what meals you are going to have, and cut portions. This can include your pets as well.
We do get some nice days this month, so take the opportunity to go for a walk, well wrapped up, or for a bike ride. Both are very good gentle exercises.
If you are not the outdoor type, join a gym and use their swimming pool; it is great exercise. Don't go too mad, though; just gentle, regular exercise will do the trick.
Exercise can be pleasurable as well. A walk in the park on a frosty morning, cold but beautiful, a walk on the beach with your dog if you are fortunate enough to have one, or just a bit of gardening. Fresh air will do you good after being indoors over the holiday period.
Whatever you do, make it fun and enjoyable and not a chore
