Today is National choose your Chocolate Day, a day most people will be happy to celebrate. It is a good excuse to buy your favourite chocolate and enjoy it.
Chocolate has been around for a long time and started as drinking chocolate in the Aztec and Olmec areas and has travelled the world to become what it is today. Delicious!!
There are different types of chocolate around. The favourite, I would think, is milk chocolate, although dark chocolate is becoming more popular and is, in fact, healthier for you. Eaten in moderation, some of the health benefits include mood enhancement, and it contains antioxidants, which can help with inflammation and stop cell damage. It can lower blood pressure and ensure a better flow of blood to the heart. It's a good source of minerals, including iron, zinc and magnesium. The more cocoa in it, the better it is for you. The really high cocoa ones are excellent but have an acquired taste. They are very bitter. There is also white chocolate, which is people's least favourite.
That's one way to enjoy chocolate!
To celebrate today, why not hold a chocolate party? So many things now have chocolate in them: cakes, ice cream, biscuits, and some puddings. Chocolate is also great as a sauce or topping on things. You could also hire a chocolate fountain and buy some bits to cover with the delicious stuff, and sit and enjoy and indulge.

When you buy a box of chocolates, there are certain guide lines to help recognise what is inside the actual chocolates :
Square Chocolates. Did you know that square and rectangle chocolate are almost always filled with caramel or toffee? It’s because they typically need to dry them first and cut them into squares before they cover them in chocolate.
Rounded Chocolates. These are almost always filled with cream or ganache, although it could be raspberry, truffles or vanilla cream.
Bumpy Chocolates. Chocolates that have bumps are typically made from nuts like cashews or almonds.
Shiny Wrappers. This is typically a chocolate that is filled with a liquid that is gooey.
So today, let's spoil ourselves and indulge in one of our favourite foods, and post all things chocolate related, be it gifs, music or pics and just have fun.
