πŸŒŠπŸ’¦ Water, Water, Everywhere πŸ³πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ

The Earth is also known as the blue planet, that blue colour being water, something that all life needs to survive.

About 71% of the Earth's surface is water-covered, and the oceans hold about 97% of all Earth's water. Water also exists in rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, in icecaps and glaciers, in the ground as soil moisture and in aquifers, in the air as water vapour, and in plants and the bodies of all living creatures.

The water cycle is an essential natural process that sustains life on Earth.

But sometimes we get too little and suffer droughts and water restrictions, which can cause famine, or have too much and get flooding and landslides, both of which can have devastating effects on the local communities and wildlife.
The oceans also help to absorb carbon dioxide and replenish the atmosphere with essential oxygen.

But water is also beautiful to look at!

And it can be recreational for humans and animals.

As well as the life support system for many creatures and plants.

Today, let us celebrate all the wonders of water by sharing all manner of watery images, gifs, music and videos, as well as the organisms that call all forms of water their home.
