Words & Writing

I guess so many of us are so used to tapping keyboards or screens these days and the only writing we do is when we scribble on a shopping list, notepad, etc. or write a few lines in a birthday or Christmas card.
I am sure as kids, we wrote a lot of letters: thank you letters, letters to Santa, or letters to a pen pal.
And there is something special about a handwritten letter or thank you note.

But although we may not write much by hand these days, I am sure we can all remember the lessons in handwriting at school, painstakingly copying letters until we mastered their form, although some people take handwriting to a whole new level in calligraphy!!
Mind you, there are some fabulous fonts available for digital writing these days.

But there is something special about a handwritten letter or thank you note. And even more so when it’s a love letter!!
Many love letters have been treasured by their recipients and have been passed down over the years, still carrying the affection that the sender enclosed.

Some people still do creative writing the old-fashioned way too, allowing their thoughts to flow with the movement of the pen across paper. And there are tablets these days that simulate the look and feel of paper so you can easily combine the two worlds and convert written text into digital at the tap of a stylus!!
But however we choose to make notes, communicate with each other, send best wishes, or write poetry or stories, we all use words, grammar and punctuation, although the last two get a bit thin on the ground at times.

So, do you still do any writing the traditional way with pen or pencil or are you completely into digital ink these days?
Do you do any creative writing?
Did you ever have a pen pal?
When was the last time you ever wrote a letter?

Let’s have some fun today sharing all things to do with writing, words, letters and the art of handwriting.
