🍝World Pasta Day🍝
Well, today is World Pasta Day, and what a day to celebrate! Pasta, the name conjures up some wonderful tasty dishes.
Imagine a hot pile of pasta in a rich sauce with seasoned sausage, olives, and mushrooms, served with some crusty garlic bread.
My mouth is watering just thinking of it.
Pasta comes in over 600 shapes and their names are usually Italian words that describe their shapes. ie Spaghetti-cord, Rotini - spirals, Penne - quills Vermicelli - little worms, to name a few. Pasta can be homemade, shop-bought fresh or shop-bought dried.
Italian food certainly made Pasta famous, but Chinese Chow Mein and German Spaetzle are also very popular as pasta dishes.
Today was brought into existence as part of the World Pasta Congress on 25th October 1995 to tell the world about the delights of eating Pasta and encouraging people to try some different types.
Most of us eat pasta with some sort of sauce. Try some melted butter and garlic, or make a Spag Bol, or even try Butternut Squash Carbonara, or even a lovely pasta salad, and there are some lovely dressings to top the salad!
However you celebrate today, eat some pasta, maybe knock up a Spag Bol or Lasagne for tea tonight.
Whatever you do, enjoy it, and share some fun today on anything pasta related, along with our usual fun and friendly chitchat!
