Apple of my eye

 

.... Well... No, it's not about that kind of apple!! 😁 It's everything about fruits and vegetables.

Great source of vitamins and minerals, a big variety of flavors and textures and not to mention that they have plenty of fiber, fruits and vegetables are, or should be a big part of our meals.

Studies have proved, over and over again the impact on our physical health, from lowering the risks of stroke, keeping the weight under control and even impact on the mental health.

The ancient Ayurveda medicine believes that all diseases come from the stomach and our health depends not only on what type of food we eat, but also the ability of our body to digest and absorb it. So, from this point of view, compared to other food, fruits and vegetables are easily digestive. There are more things to say about it, but I won't go into that.

There's no better time for fresh salads, be it veggies or fruits salads! And if you have the chance to grow your own, nothing beat the joy to pick up your veggies and get creative in your kitchen.  Or just creative!!


I am not lucky to have my own garden, but I do enjoy the local markets, a carnival of colours, and my chance to choose my fruits and vegetables.

Speaking of colours, it appears, from some research studies, that certain colours of food may be good for specific health conditions.

And what about how some fruits and vegetables look like body part they help to keep healthy?! We all know the kidney beans, the carrots or the walnuts... But what about the sweet potatoes and the pancreas?


Or bananas and...yes, the smile!! 😁

Due to the special protein called tryptophan, that is converted into serotonin, once it is digested.


So... Let's have some fun chatting about this, or something else, if you are not into fruits and veggies. 😁 Everyone is welcome as long as you keep it fun and friendly!
