Tremendous Trees

Trees are such wonderful things. So many shapes and sizes and colours to be found.
Not only do they clean and regulate our air by taking in carbon dioxide and impurities, giving out oxygen in the process, but their wood has been cut, sawn, carved and moulded for thousands of years, and provided us with houses, boats, bridges, furniture, paper, cardboard, ornaments, etc.

Conifers and other evergreens make great windbreaks in exposed areas. The changing leaves of the deciduous trees and the appearance of blossoms mark the turning of the seasons.
The humble willow tree gave us aspirin in its bark.

And they decorate our homes and gardens and give us food in the form of fruit, in addition to beautiful woodland and forests to enjoy, as well as supporting so much other life in and around them.
They underpin so much of the world's ecosystem.

Do you have trees in your garden, or maybe some bonsai in your house, or does a nice walk in a forest or some woodland soothe your soul?
Maybe your house is made of wood. We all have furniture made from trees, I am sure.

Today, let's celebrate the wonder of trees by sharing anything to do with them, whether it's trees themselves in all their shapes or sizes, or other things we have to thank them for.
As well, of course, as our normal dose of fun and friendship.
