🐻🧸🐻‍❄️Bears, Real & Fictional🐻🧸🐻‍❄️

The images of bears are that they are sweet and need a cuddle, hence we give teddy bears to children.  That is far from the truth.

Wild bears are anything but cuddly, and some will look at you as food.  The Polar Bear is a fantastic animal, but it leads a very hard life indeed, and it is getting harder due to the loss of Arctic sea ice, which makes it very difficult for them to hunt and travel to find food.  They are, needless to say, on the endangered list.

The Brown Bear is native to Eurasia and North America and its  closest relative is the Polar Bear but the Polar Bear is slightly larger .

Grizzly and Polar Bears are the most dangerous, but Brown Bears and Black Bears have been known to attack humans; some bears will take livestock and even crops such as corn.

The fictional ones are a lot less dangerous, lol!
Bears like Winnie the Pooh, who everybody loves and has entertained kids and adults since 1924. He has such wonderful sayings and such great friends.
Rupert Bear started off in the newspapers, and he is still around today after over 100 years. I used to love reading the newspaper comic strip of him when I was young.

Winnie the Pooh, a bear of little brain!

We mustn't forget Yogi Bear either. He made his debut in 1958 and is still as popular today, and Paddington Bear who has also been around since 1958, and had tea with our late Queen at Buckingham Palace!

Last but not least are the teddy bears. I still have mine from when I was a baby, much the worse for wear, sadly. I also have a collection of Bears dotted round the house. There seem to be teddy bears nowadays for everything: Valentine's Day bears, Christmas bears, collectable bears, etc. but at the end of the day, they are quite lovable and worth a space in our home.

So are bears, wild or fictional, your cup of tea?
Let us know and post all things bear-related.
