❤️🌹🥰❤️Happy Valentine’s Day❤️🌹🥰❤️
Well, today, as everybody will know, is Valentine's Day. Love and romance, chocolates and flowers, cards and gifts to people we love, followed by a nice romantic candlelit dinner and maybe some dancing! All of it to say I love you.
Every year, thousands of people pay a fortune for cards and gifts for their loved ones. Personally, I don't think you need a special day to show people you love them. Every day is special with the person you love.
The history of this special day has a lot of mystery about it. Tradition says it is 14th February, but in fact, the whole of February is a time for love and romance.
Valentine’s Day is not actually a modern holiday but has been celebrated in the middle of February for more than 1500 years. Pope Gelasius established the first Valentine’s Day when he decided to get rid of the Feast of Lupercalia, a pagan festival of love, and chose to replace it with a celebration in honour of St. Valentine, who was martyred a couple of hundred years prior.
So, what do you do on Valentine's Day?
Do you spend a fortune on cards and flowers? Although receiving red roses on this day is wonderful and makes you feel special.
Do you have a candlelit dinner for two or do you just spend time together, which to me is the most important?
Whatever you do, enjoy it together.
Give us your thoughts on Valentine's Day, if you celebrate it or not, and if so how and let's post all things to do with love and romance
