πŸŽ„πŸ””πŸŒŸIt’s Twelfth NightπŸŽ„πŸ””πŸŒŸ

Yes, folks, Christmas has been and gone, and now it’s time to pack it all away til next time. I hope you all had a good one.

It seems to take so long to take them down and pack them away than put them up, and the place always looks dull and dreary after they are down.

There are superstitions attached to leaving them up, and of course, you can’t do much dusting etc., with the decs there.

  • A common superstition in many English-speaking countries is that it's bad luck to leave Christmas decorations up after Twelfth Night. Some traditions say that if decorations aren't taken down by Twelfth Night, they should stay up all year. Others say they should be left up until Candlemas Day, which is on February 2.

  • The tradition may have originated from the medieval idea that decorations left up after Candlemas Eve would be possessed by goblins.

  • Twelfth Night, also known as Epiphany Eve, is a Christian festival that marks the end of the 12 days of Christmas. In Christian tradition, Epiphany is when the Wise Men are believed to have visited Jesus.

So, do you take yours down by the 12th night or leave them a bit longer?
Today, let’s post anything cheerful, be it pics, songs etc. to brighten our spirits up once the decs are down.
