Well, today is Nature Photography Day, a day which does warrant some sort of celebration.
Nature itself produces such fantastic beauty and wonder. There is some beautiful scenery, flowers, animals, all of which should be appreciated and are there to be photographed.

But we must learn to respect it, and the power of Nature

One of the best ways to appreciate nature, is when you are out and about, film it or photograph it. You never know the photo you take may be a one-off photo of being in the right place at the right time.

Even in your own garden, when you walk the dog, take time to look around you and take some photos. Even photos of rain or thunderstorms can be beautiful.

This was the winner in a recent photographic competition and it was a case of being in the right place at the right time.

The best way to celebrate this day is to get outdoors with your camera, and we all need a walk now and again. Look for hidden insects, flowers, or wildlife, there is plenty of it around if you sit quietly for half an hour. What you see will amaze you. You don’t need a “camera” either, your phone camera will do a good job. Although for some things you will need a special lens.

If you really are into photographing nature, go on a safari. A wonderful experience seeing animals in their rightful places. Or even a walking holiday somewhere away from it all.

Photographing nature is a great way to learn about things and is a wonderful art that brings us closer to the world we live in and of course you have something lovely to look back on and the photos to go with it
