🌵Houseplants🌵

A house plant is what it says, they prefer being kept indoors, although on a nice summer's day there is no reason why you can't put them outside to get a bit of fresh air, or even out in the rain to give them a wash and a good water.

They are found in most homes, offices and hotels. They do have psychological effects as well as helping with indoor air purification. Studies have shown that in offices they can often boost productivity, concentration and reaction times, as well as reducing stress. They are also beneficial to the eyes, something nice to look at instead of just walls. Plants improve indoor air quality in many ways.

They absorb carbon dioxide and give out oxygen.

They increase humidity and thus relieve allergies and headaches and lower blood pressure.

They remove pollutants from the air such as benzene and formaldehyde.

There are flowering plants and green plants, most of which are tropical or semi-tropical. They are relatively easy to look after generally, but do need to be in the right spot, and do appreciate a bit of TLC, and some food and water as well.

These Orchids will flower for ages and are quite easy to get to reflower.

Do you have houseplants in your home, if so what sort do you have and have you got any unusual ones?
If so, we would love to see some pics.

This is a really weird one and definitely thrives on being kept very dry. It’s a Zamioculcas and has doubled in size in about a year!! It is about three times that size now.

Let's have some houseplant fun today, and please post some pics of your own houseplants if you want to, or anything houseplant related, together with our usual fun and chit chat.
