🚀Welcome To Star Trek Day🚀
Hello Trekkies, you know what today is and will want to celebrate it.
Star Trek to many has become a way of life from when it was first seen on TV way back in the the sixties. People take being a Trekkie very seriously indeed and spend time and money going to all sort of conventions all over the place.
The first series was broadcast in 1966 and lasted for 3 years. Ok, it's very dated now, but I loved it, and think personally, it was the best of them. It was followed by The Next Generation from 1987 to 1994, and then Deep Space Nine from 1993 to 1999. I have seen some of all of these. I have not seen any of the last two, which are Voyager 1995 to 2001 and lastly Enterprise 2001-2005. The first series introduced the most popular character of them all.
There have also been a lot of Star Trek films Not sure this is up to date though
Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) ...
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) ...
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) ...
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) ...
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) ...
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) ...
Star Trek: Generations (1994)
There were a lot of well-known characters and sayings from the series and films, some you love and others were the bad guys you hated.
Star Trek's aim was to show a hope-filled future where there was no racism and nationality didn't matter. At the end of the day, we are all living in the same universe and should get on.
So today, let’s have your thoughts on Star Trek, are you a Trekkie or just enjoy the films? Post anything Star Trek related along with our usual good fun and chit-chat. Happy Star Trek day!
