Welcome To Sunday
Well, today is Sunday, a day of rest, but what are you going to do with yours?
I remember the days when Sunday was a special day, no shops open and you were at home with your Parents, and had a leisurely breakfast listening to the radio.
Sometimes, we would go to a Sunday market, back in the days when markets were cheaper to buy from. Then we all sat down to a roast Sunday lunch at 1 pm, followed by going to Sunday School.
Then it was a lazy afternoon, watching tv or even going for a walk till tea time. Then it would be off to Sunday evening service at the Church.
To be honest, I think they were better days. They were very family orientated, you may even have gone to visit some family after lunch
Then they opened shops on a Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm and you were restricted on what you could buy: you could buy a bottle of Whiskey but not a Bible! Then the shops started opening earlier, and Sunday has just become another day, and the rest as they say is history.
Sunday lunch went out of the window as people went shopping and didn’t have time to cook one, women started working, and so Sunday was the main catching up day of washing and housework, and from there it has all gone downhill!
So what are your Sunday plans? Do you treat it as it is meant to be, a day of rest from a week at work, or is it just another day to you?
Let's have some fun talking and posting Sunday-related things along with our usual chit-chat and fun.
